Game Format & Penalties
-
Games will be 3 15-minute periods.
-
There will be no overtime in regular season in the event of a tie.
-
Teams will have 3 minutes to practice once they get on the ice. All players should be dressed and ready to take the ice before their scheduled game time.
-
SUBS ARE LIMITED TO 3 GOALS PER GAME. The captains on the ice are responsible for making sure any 4th or higher sub goal is not counted. If a sub scores a 4th goal (waved off), the resuming gameplay should be treated as if the goalie had saved the puck and the play was stopped (faceoff remains in the zone).
-
As a guideline, no one person on any roster should be scoring more than 30% of their teams' goals. This is not the league for more skilled players to be a puck hog and steal the spotlight in - rather they should be using their talent to help support and set up their teammates. While we will not remove someone if they go a couple goals over, they will be warned to tone it down and if they continue to dominate the game they will be removed from the league.
-
Standard penalties are 2 minutes.
-
Any unnecessarily aggressive contact can be given a 5 minute penalty, up to the discretion of the refs.
-
Any fighting, as determined by the refs, will result in immediate ejection from the game.
-
Team captains are responsible for deciding on any additional action, such as game suspensions. All games in question will be reviewed before a decision is made.

Please make sure the refs' names are legible on the score sheet for the evening. We keep a running list of refs we do not allow in our league. We do not tolerate refs being hostile or disrespectful towards players; just as players need to be respectful of refs and their calls.
